The Puget Sound Center for Personalized Learning is proud to support and provide educational leaders the opportunity to explore issues and models for developing and implementing personalized learning initiatives. Each student entering our schools brings a different set of needs and strengths. If we are going to ensure that all our children will be successful, we need to develop schools and educators who can adapt to these many complex differences, and provide each child the personalized learning experience they need to thrive. We believe this is an important part of our work and allows for deeper thinking that can help inform and empower decision making at the individual student level.
The Puget Sound Center for Personalized Learning (PSCPL) is committed to supporting the transformation of schools to ensure the elimination of racial inequities and the success of each student. We partner with educators and leaders in districts to develop strategies, processes, and tools that support personalized learning schools that tailor learning to address each student’s strengths, needs, race, culture, and interests and give student’s voice and choice in how, when, and where they learn in an effort to prepare every student to achieve academically and reach individual goals. The PSCPL will establish cohort school leadership teams made up of teacher leaders and administrators from selected schools. We seek to create a network of schools that exemplify a personalized, student-centered approach in educating students.
Our DefinitionPersonalized Learning is tailoring learning for each student’s strengths, needs, race, culture, and interests including the student’s voice and choice in what, how, when and where they learn. This is achieved by supporting students, teachers, and families in the development of flexible and equitable learning environments to ensure mastery of the highest learning standards to reach individual student’s goals.
